How to Install Solar Street Light

SunMaster solar street lights are easy to install. You will simply need common hand tools to assemble the light. For bigger projects, however, we can provide onsite training and technical assistance. For these multiple installations, hiring technicians with professional certificates, specialising in street lamp installation is recommended.

What will you need to install a solar street light?

Before you start a street light installation, prepare the following tools:

What do you need to prepare before installation?

Before the start of any installation, make sure to do the following steps.
1. Surround the construction area with guard lines. Only installation specialists and personnel must be allowed in the construction area.
2. Read the installation manual and familiarize yourself with the installation procedures, the circuit diagrams, and the safety measures you must take before you proceed with the installation.
3. Make sure that you have the complete solar street lights kit. Check that you have the following parts:

Solar Panel
Kickstand (Solar Bracket)
Light Fixture

Lamp Pole
Access Panel
Flange

Basis Cage
Battery and Battery Box
Controller

Installation Procedures for a Solar Street Lamp

1. Installation of the Foundation

To install the foundation of your solar street light, choose a level and flat ground, with no inclination. Screw and secure the Basis Cage to the ground using the four screws. One side of the Basis Cage should be parallel to the edge of the road. Secure the Basis Cage with concrete, and this will serve as the foundation of your street lamp.

2. Installation of the Battery and Battery Box

Place the battery beside the Basis Cage,underground, at about 600 mm. Follow the electrical circuit diagram on how the battery will be connected.

3. Setup the Street Lamp

A. Lift the lamp pole off the ground for 1 meter, with the use of a supporting bench.

B. Install and secure the Solar Bracket at the top of the lamp pole.
Place the Solar Panel on the Solar Bracket and secure it with bolts. Solar Panels should be handled with care. Follow the electrical circuit diagrams on how the Solar Panels will be connected to the battery, the controller, and the street light.

C. Install the Light Fixture on the lamp pole. Place the Light Fixture on the ground, with the back part facing upward. Press the red buttons on both sides of the Light Fixture. Turn the Light Fixture around, and screw the plastic black lamp holder. Place the
LED light bulb in the holder. If electronic ballast is needed, place it inside the light fixture. Follow the circuit diagram when you connect the light fixture to the controller. Connect and secure the light fixture to the lamp pole.

D. Check installation and connections to confirm that everything is in the right place. Make sure that wires and components are connected according to the electrical circuit diagram.

E. Use a crane to erect the lamp pole. Ensure that the lamp pole is upright on the bottom plate. Fix and secure it with bolts.

F. Place the controller inside the lamp pole, with the correct wires and leads properly connected to the controller. Check that the erected street light is working and behaving as expected.
